Looking for a Preceptor?
I know firsthand how challenging it can be to secure preceptors during your clinical training. If I could welcome every student, I truly would—but the reality is that I can only take on a limited number. For the students I’m able to work with, my goal is to provide a supportive, engaging, and practice-ready clinical experience.
All students I precept are required to be members of the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing (ISAPN). Active members receive preference in placement, as I strongly believe in connecting future nurse practitioners with the professional organization that advocates for our practice and elevates our voice statewide.
My Story
I am Dr. April J. Odom, DNP, APRN-FPA, CRRN, FNP-BC, owner of Physicals Plus, Inc., my own primary care clinic. We provide comprehensive care for patients ages 6 and older, including preventive care, primary care, weight management, and aesthetics. Working alongside me gives students the opportunity to see the full spectrum of care in a real-world, independent NP-led practice.
